A: Industrial AG coatings have a slight “matte” texture which can soften the image very slightly compared to a glossy screen, but it significantly improves readability in bright environments. For a 800×480 resolution, the text remains sharp and clear.
Q: Can I use this screen with gloves?
A: The LCD module itself doesn’t detect touch. However, we can optical bond a Resistive (RTP) or Capacitive (CTP) touch panel on top. For outdoor use, we recommend a CTP with water rejection firmware.
Q: Does high brightness consume more power?
A: Yes, 1000 nits requires more current than a standard 300 nits screen. We recommend designing your power supply to handle the LED backlight load (typically around 9V-12V for the LED rail, or check datasheet for specific current @ 5V).
