High-resolution Round LCD Display modules for smart knobs and automotive instruments. Available in sizes 1.28″ to 5.0″ with MIPI interface.

Round TFT LCD Display Selection

Round TFT displays are selected by visible diameter, native pixel matrix, module outline and interface. Confirm whether the panel is physically circular or a square active matrix behind a round mask, then review touch, cover glass, connector position, brightness and quantity.

Typical Round Display Formats

Size range Typical resolution Interface Typical application
0.96–1.54 inch 160×80, 240×240 or model-specific SPI or MCU Wearables, compact dials and status indicators
1.85–2.8 inch 360×360, 480×480 SPI, RGB or MIPI DSI Smart knobs, meters and control panels
3.4–4.0 inch 480×480, 720×720 RGB, MIPI or LVDS Appliance controls, instrumentation and HMI
Large-format round Model-specific LVDS/eDP or controller solution Digital signage, simulator instruments and custom enclosures

These ranges are selection guidance only. Verify the exact active diameter, outer glass diameter, resolution, interface and operating limits from the model datasheet.

Round UI and Controller Considerations

Design the interface at the native resolution and keep critical text and controls inside the safe circular area. A square image can be clipped by the bezel, and rotation or scaling depends on the host processor or controller. Raw TFT modules normally do not accept HDMI directly.

Custom cover glass, touch sensor, printing, bonding, FPC or controller work may adapt an existing display. A new active diameter or pixel matrix is a different custom-display program with separate tooling, volume and schedule requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all round TFT displays truly circular?

No. Some use circular cover glass or a round bezel over a non-circular active matrix. Confirm both the pixel area and module outline.

Can HDMI connect directly to a round display?

Usually not. Small modules use SPI, RGB or MIPI, while larger raw panels may use LVDS or eDP. HDMI requires a compatible controller.

Can a round PCAP touch sensor be added?

Often yes, subject to sensor diameter, cover-glass design, controller tuning, bonding, quantity and environmental requirements.

How should artwork be designed for a circular screen?

Use the native resolution, define a safe circular content area and test rotation, clipping and touch targets in the final bezel.

What is needed for quotation?

Provide visible diameter, outer dimensions, resolution, interface, brightness, touch and cover-lens needs, temperature range, sample quantity and annual quantity.
