If you buy the Kit version (with HDMI board), the backlight driver is built into the board, so you just need to plug in power. If you buy the raw panel, you will need to design a constant current LED driver circuit for the backlight (High voltage, approx 18V/360mA based on the datasheet drawing).

What is the resolution of this large square screen?

It features a 768x768 resolution. While the pixel density is lower than our smaller mobile screens, the large pixels make it excellent for readability at a distance, which is ideal for industrial dashboards and simulators.
