Raw TFT Module or HDMI Display Kit?

A raw 4.3-inch TFT is appropriate when the embedded processor supports the panel’s native RGB, MIPI or LVDS timing. An HDMI controller kit is easier for a PC or Raspberry Pi but adds board size, power, cables and firmware considerations. The controller must match the exact panel pinout and backlight.

For replacement projects, provide the current panel model, datasheet, outline drawing and host connector. Similar diagonal size does not mean drop-in compatibility. Even two 480×272 panels can use different pinouts, timings, FPC positions or backlight circuits.
