Technical Overview

DBM101LCDM16K01 Datasheet provides the technical specifications for a
10.1-inch monochrome LTPS TFT LCD with an exceptionally high
15120 × 6230 dot resolution, MIPI interface and a
211.68 × 118.37 mm active area. Unlike conventional RGB display panels,
DBM101LCDM16K01 is a mono transmissive LCD designed around high-resolution optical modulation,
with its contrast and transmittance characteristics specified using a
405nm UV backlight source.

DBM101LCDM16K01 10.1-Inch Monochrome LCD Overview

The DBM101LCDM16K01 is a transmissive mono active-matrix LCD using
LTPS TFT as the switching technology. The module consists of the TFT LCD panel,
polarizers, driver IC, panel-link electronics and PCBA.

Its most important difference from a conventional color TFT LCD is that the display does not use
RGB subpixels for full-color image reproduction. Instead, it provides a dense monochrome dot matrix
of 15120 horizontal × 6230 vertical dots. This configuration is particularly relevant
to applications in which optical transmission precision and very small dot dimensions are more important
than conventional color display performance.

15120×6230 High-Resolution Monochrome Dot Matrix

The defining specification of the DBM101LCDM16K01 is its
15120 × 6230 monochrome dot matrix.
The panel uses a very small rectangular dot pitch of
14 μm horizontally and 19 μm vertically.

These values correspond directly to the specified active area:

  • 15120 × 14 μm = 211.68 mm horizontal active width
  • 6230 × 19 μm ≈ 118.37 mm vertical active height

This relationship is important because the 15120×6230 specification describes individual
monochrome dots rather than RGB color pixels. For engineering comparison,
the physical active area therefore remains approximately 211.68 × 118.37 mm despite the unusually
large horizontal dot count.

Designed for 405nm UV Optical Operation

Unlike ordinary monitor LCD specifications that focus primarily on visible-light luminance,
the DBM101LCDM16K01 datasheet defines its optical performance using a
405nm UV backlight.

The published optical characteristics include:

  • Contrast ratio: 300:1 minimum
  • Panel transmittance: 3.85% minimum, 4.1% typical
  • Transmittance uniformity: 80%

The contrast ratio, transmittance and transmittance-uniformity specifications are explicitly based on
the 405nm INX UV BLU measurement condition defined in the original specification.

This makes transmittance a much more relevant engineering parameter for this LCD than conventional
visible-light brightness in cd/m².

4.1% Typical Panel Transmittance

The specification defines 4.1% typical transmittance with polarizer
under the stated 405nm UV backlight test condition, with a minimum value of 3.85%.

For UV exposure systems, LCD transmittance directly affects how much source energy passes through the
open-state LCD structure. System designers should therefore evaluate the panel together with the actual
UV LED wavelength, optical stack, exposure intensity and thermal design rather than comparing it with
standard color-display brightness specifications.

LTPS TFT Technology

DBM101LCDM16K01 uses LTPS (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon) TFT
technology rather than the conventional a-Si TFT structure commonly found in standard industrial
display panels.

This TFT architecture supports the extremely dense mono dot matrix required by the panel while maintaining
the specified 10.1-inch active display area.

Dual-Port MIPI Interface Architecture

The module uses a MIPI interface. The 51-pin connector definition shows two
independent MIPI ports, identified as MIPI Port A and
MIPI Port B.

Each MIPI port provides four differential data lanes and one differential clock pair.

MIPI Port A

  • MIPI_A_D0P / D0N
  • MIPI_A_D1P / D1N
  • MIPI_A_D2P / D2N
  • MIPI_A_D3P / D3N
  • MIPI_A_CLKP / CLKN

MIPI Port B

  • MIPI_B_D0P / D0N
  • MIPI_B_D1P / D1N
  • MIPI_B_D2P / D2N
  • MIPI_B_D3P / D3N
  • MIPI_B_CLKP / CLKN

This dual-port architecture is an important integration requirement. A controller designed for a
conventional single four-lane MIPI display should not automatically be assumed to support this panel.
The complete MIPI architecture and initialization requirements should be confirmed during controller-board
development.

51-Pin LCD Interface

The specification identifies the module electronics connector as
XDYT 0-51162217-5, with compatibility references to
STM FFSKL05011N51C and FCN FF01-42T-5131.

In addition to the two MIPI ports, the 51-pin interface carries:

  • VDDIO: digital I/O power
  • AVDD: positive analog supply
  • AVEE: negative analog supply
  • RESETB: reset input
  • TE: tearing-effect signal
  • BIST: built-in self-test control
  • Multiple ground connections

Multiple LCD Power Rails

DBM101LCDM16K01 does not operate from a single 3.3V LCD supply like many conventional TFT modules.
Its electrical specification defines three primary supply rails:

Supply Recommended Value
VDDIO 1.8V typical
AVDD +6.2V typical
AVEE -6.2V typical

The recommended operating ranges are:

  • VDDIO: 1.7V to 1.9V
  • AVDD: 6.1V to 6.3V
  • AVEE: -6.3V to -6.1V

The specification lists a typical VDDIO current of 242mA under a full-white pattern at
20Hz, with typical AVDD and AVEE currents of approximately +44mA and -44mA respectively.

20Hz Typical Frame Rate

The general specification defines a 20Hz typical frame rate.
This is substantially different from a conventional 60Hz monitor panel and reflects the specialized
operating requirements of this high-resolution monochrome LCD.

The display timing section in the current specification leaves the detailed PCLK frequency,
horizontal timing and vertical timing values as TBD.
Developers should therefore obtain or confirm the complete MIPI timing and initialization data before
building a production controller solution.

Operating Temperature and UV Printing Thermal Requirement

The specified environmental ranges are:

  • Operating temperature: 0°C to +70°C
  • Storage temperature: -10°C to +80°C

The handling section contains an additional application-specific warning:
during UV light printing operation, the panel temperature should not exceed
50°C in order to maintain good LCD display quality.

This thermal limitation is especially important when integrating the panel with a high-power
405nm UV source, because the operating-temperature rating alone should not be used as the thermal
design target for the exposure area.

Reliability Test Conditions

The DBM101LCDM16K01 specification documents the following reliability tests:

  • High-temperature storage: +80°C for 240 hours
  • Low-temperature storage: -10°C for 240 hours
  • High-temperature operation: +70°C for 240 hours
  • Low-temperature operation: 0°C for 240 hours
  • High-temperature/high-humidity operation: +60°C, 90% RH for 240 hours

The specification states that samples should recover at room temperature for more than two hours before
functional inspection after reliability testing.

DBM101LCDM16K01 for UV Resin 3D Printing Projects

The combination of 15120×6230 mono dots, 14×19μm dot pitch,
405nm UV optical characterization and dedicated MIPI architecture makes the DBM101LCDM16K01 relevant
to high-resolution UV exposure and resin 3D printing system development.

For a new printer or replacement-display project, the LCD alone should not be selected only by physical
screen size. The host electronics must also match the panel’s
dual-port MIPI interface, power rails, initialization sequence, mechanical dimensions and
405nm optical requirements
.
