Technical Overview

DBC115LCDIEN30L080A-01 Datasheet provides the technical specifications for an
11.5-inch square industrial TFT LCD module with
800 × 800 pixel resolution, 800 cd/m² typical brightness and a
1-channel LVDS interface. The display offers a large
207 × 207 mm square active area, selectable 6-bit or 8-bit LVDS input,
a built-in LED backlight converter and an operating temperature range of
-30°C to +80°C.

DBC115LCDIEN30L080A-01 11.5-Inch Square LCD Overview

The DBC115LCDIEN30L080A-01 is an a-Si TFT active-matrix display designed around an
800 × RGB × 800 square pixel matrix. Its nearly 1:1 visual format differs from standard
16:9 industrial monitors and is intended for equipment requiring a large square graphical interface.

The specification identifies industrial TFT LCD monitors, industrial applications and amusement equipment
as target applications. The panel uses a transmissive, normally-white display structure
with an RGB vertical stripe pixel arrangement and supports both 262K and 16.2M colors.

The LCD surface uses an AG anti-glare treatment with 3H hardness, helping reduce direct
reflections on the display surface in equipment installations.

800×800 Square Display and Mechanical Dimensions

The defining characteristic of this module is its large 207 × 207 mm active display area.
This creates a true square viewing region suited to interfaces where equal horizontal and vertical display
space is preferred.

Parameter DBC115LCDIEN30L080A-01 Specification
Diagonal Size 11.5 inch
Resolution 800 × RGB × 800
Active Area 207 × 207 mm
Bezel Opening Area 210 × 210 mm
Module Size 223.3 × 218.1 × 4.8 mm
Pixel Pitch 0.259 × 0.259 mm
Pixel Arrangement RGB Vertical Stripe
Display Colors 262K / 16.2M
Display Mode Normally White
Surface Treatment AG, 3H

Although the active area is square, the complete module outline is not exactly square because the driver
electronics and connector area extend beyond the active panel structure. Mechanical engineers should therefore
use the full 223.3 × 218.1 mm module dimensions rather than the visible area alone when
designing the enclosure.

800 cd/m² High-Brightness Display

The DBC115LCDIEN30L080A-01 is specified with a
typical white luminance of 800 cd/m². The optical specification also lists
approximately 700 cd/m² minimum luminance under the defined laboratory measurement
conditions.

This higher backlight output differentiates the module from many conventional indoor TFT panels and makes
brightness one of the primary selection criteria for this model.

Key optical parameters include:

  • White luminance: 700 cd/m² minimum, 800 cd/m² typical
  • Contrast ratio: 500 minimum, 700 typical
  • Horizontal viewing angle: 70° minimum, 80° typical
  • Vertical viewing angle: 60° minimum, 70° typical
  • White variation: 1.25 typical, 1.4 maximum

The datasheet defines optical measurements at approximately 25°C after the module and backlight have been
stabilized before measurement.

1-Channel LVDS Interface with 6-Bit and 8-Bit Selection

The module uses a single-channel LVDS interface with RX0, RX1, RX2 and RX3 differential
data channels together with the RXCLK differential clock pair.

A dedicated SEL6/8 input allows the controller to select the LVDS color depth:

  • SEL6/8 Low or NC: 6-bit LVDS input mode
  • SEL6/8 High: 8-bit LVDS input mode

The specification provides separate 6-bit and 8-bit color data assignments, allowing the module to support
262K-color and 16.2M-color operation depending on system configuration.

The interface connector specified in the datasheet is
STARCONN 093G30-B1001A-G4 or equivalent, using a 30-pin interface that combines the LVDS
signals, LCD logic supply, backlight power and control signals.

LVDS Clock and DE-Only Timing

The interface timing specification defines an LVDS clock frequency from
67.45 MHz to 74.55 MHz, with 71.1 MHz typical.

An important integration requirement for the DBC115LCDIEN30L080A-01 is that the panel operates in
DE-only mode. According to the specification, HSync and VSync inputs should be held at a
low logic level or connected to ground. Using them incorrectly may result in abnormal panel operation.

Engineers designing or selecting a controller board should therefore confirm:

  • 800 × 800 output resolution
  • Single-channel LVDS output
  • Approximately 71.1 MHz typical LVDS clock
  • DE-only timing support
  • Correct 6-bit or 8-bit LVDS mapping

Reverse Scan and Built-In Test Functions

The 30-pin interface provides a Reverse control input that allows the displayed image to
be rotated by 180 degrees without changing the physical LCD orientation.

  • Reverse Low or NC: normal display
  • Reverse High: 180-degree rotated display

The panel also provides a BIST control input for built-in self-test operation.
These functions can simplify installation in systems where the display orientation or factory testing
requirements differ between product configurations.

3.3V LCD Power and Integrated Backlight Converter

The TFT LCD electronics operate from a 3.3V typical VCC supply, with a specified normal
range of approximately 3.0V to 3.6V.

The backlight system is different from raw TFT panels that require an external LED current driver.
For this module, the specification states that the converter for the backlight unit is built in.
The interface therefore provides dedicated 12V LED power inputs, as well as backlight
enable and dimming controls.

Relevant interface signals include:

  • 12V: LED converter power supply
  • ENLED: backlight enable
  • Dimming: backlight brightness adjustment
  • VCC: 3.3V LCD system power

The general specification lists maximum total power consumption at approximately
9.2W, consisting of up to 2.7W for the LCD cell circuitry and up to 6.5W for the backlight.

Wide -30°C to +80°C Operating Temperature

The environmental absolute ratings specify both operating and storage temperatures from
-30°C to +80°C. This is a particularly notable characteristic of the
DBC115LCDIEN30L080A-01 compared with standard commercial TFT displays.

The reliability specification further documents:

  • High-temperature storage: +80°C for 240 hours
  • Low-temperature storage: -30°C for 240 hours
  • High-temperature operation: +80°C for 240 hours
  • Low-temperature operation: -30°C for 240 hours
  • High-temperature/high-humidity operation: +60°C, 90% RH for 240 hours
  • Thermal shock: -30°C to +80°C, 100 cycles
  • Non-operating shock: 50G, 11 ms half-sine
  • Non-operating vibration: 1.5G, 10–300 Hz

These published environmental tests provide useful reference data when evaluating the panel for industrial
equipment exposed to elevated temperatures, cold starts, vibration or mechanical shock.

Replaceable LED Light Bar

Another distinctive feature listed in the specification is the
replaceable LED light bar. This differs from many compact TFT modules where the backlight
assembly is treated as a permanently integrated component.

For equipment intended for long service cycles, the replaceable light-bar design can be relevant when
evaluating maintenance and backlight servicing requirements.
